Campbell Meets Lipscomb in A-Sun Game of the Week
|

MACON, Ga. - As A-Sun conference action begins, Campbell travels to face Lipscomb in the A-Sun Men’s Soccer Game of the Week live on ASunTV at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday in Nashville, Tenn.
Lipscomb, ranked third in the A-Sun Preseason Coaches’ Poll, struggled in non-conference play posting a record of 3-5-1. The Bisons have played solidly at home, owning an undefeated mark of 2-0-1. The key for Lipscomb resides in net as the Bisons have allowed only two goals in its three wins but 14 goals in their five losses. Campbell captured the 2008 A-Sun regular-season title but has started slowly in 2009, recording only one win in its first seven matches. Vince Petrasso leads the Camels and the A-Sun in assists with four. Alexander Faulk and Garrett Pettis lead the Lipscomb attack as each has posted two goals on the season.
Campbell goalkeeper Ryan Amons needs to slow down the Lipscomb offensive attack if the Camels want to start conference play on a high note. With only three goals in their last four matches the Camels need to jump start their offense and Petrasso, the A-Sun leader in assists, figures to spearhead any such attack. Lipscomb’s Miguel DaSilva, the 2009 A-Sun Preseason Player of the Year, looks to get his offensive numbers up as he enters the weekend with one goal and four points for the Bisons.
