Conference Leaders Meet in A-Sun Game of the Week

MACON, Ga. – The Stetson Hatters will put their eight-game regular-season winning streak on the line when they meet the College of Charleston at 5:00 p.m., Friday at the Ashley Sports Complex in Jacksonville, Fla in the Atlantic Sun’s Men’s Soccer Game of the Week.
The Cougars and the Hatters battle in the opening game of the Jacksonville Nike Invitational. The College of Charleston travels to Jacksonville with a record of 6-1 and as the leaders in the Southern Conference. The Cougars have a record of 2-0-0 against A-Sun teams this season, scoring victories against UNF (3-0) and FGCU (2-1 in overtime). Griffin Gilstrap leads Stetson in goals, points and earned conference player of the week honors on Sept. 14.
Current A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week, Stetson goalkeeper Logan Potter, leads the conference in shutouts, goals-against average and save percentage. Stetson has not allowed a goal in 287:53. Matt Morris leads the College of Charleston in points and ranks second in the Southern Conference in points, goals and assists. Morris leads the Cougars in goals, assists and points while Potter ranks 15th in the nation in goals-against average.
The College of Charleston opened the season with five consecutive wins before falling to Lehigh (3-2). The Cougars allowed four shots to find the net in their first five matches but since then they have given up five goals in their last two.
