UNF Battles Georgia State in A-Sun Game of the Week
|

MACON, Ga. - After opening the season with four consecutive road games, UNF opens its home schedule with a match at 5:00 p.m. against Georgia State on Friday at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Ospreys need to jump start their offense in order to open the home portion of their schedule with a victory against the Panthers live on ASunTV. UNF hopes the friendly confines of Hodges Stadium will help an Osprey offense that has only found the net twice in 2009. UNF has a total of three goals on the season thanks to an own goal but a Panther defense that has allowed four goals in their last two games might be just what UNF needs to get going. Georgia State has not been shut out this season and has racked up five goals on the season. In order to pick up its first win of the season, UNF needs a top notch performance from it goalkeeper who have combined for a 3.00 goals-against average.
One of the key matchups in the match will feature UNF’s Shareef Rajkumar, Clavin Lowe and Adam O’Neill against Georgia State goalkeeper Vincent Foermer. Foermer holds a .667 save percentage on the season and shots on the net will be key in jumpstarting the UNF offense. The Ospreys needs to take more shots as they have been outshot 60-34 on the season. Georgia State holds a team .667 team save percentage and the Panthers have allowed five goals on 15 shots in 2009.
