BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Atlantic Sun Conference champion Campbell University will travel to Greenville, S.C., to face Furman Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Division I men's soccer championship.

Campbell (13-5-3) won its first A-Sun title and claimed the program's first berth in the NCAA event since the Fighting Camels joined the Division I ranks in 1977. The 22nd-ranked Paladins (18-3-0) won the Southern Conference championship.

"I'm excited for the team, for the program, for all the alumni that played here. The outpouring of phone calls, emails and text messages I've received over the last several days is amazing," said sixth-year Camel head coach Doug Hess. "I am looking forward to our game with Furman. They've been a solid program through the last several years and I have huge respect for (coach) Doug Allison and the program he runs."

The top 16 seeds in the 48-school field receive first round byes. The final four teams will meet in the Men's College Cup December 14-16 at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
