MACON, Ga. – In week one, Jacksonville’s Anton Axelsson won offensive Player of the Week and Matt Gilman stepped in at net due to injury and won defensive Player of the Week. Five weeks later, Axelsson again wins offensive Player of the Week and Gilman again replaced Joey Sanchez in net to earn defensive Player of the Week honors as the Dolphins won a pair of games and clinched their spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship presented by Bealls Outlet.
The weekend started with the Dolphins taking down Florida Gulf Coast by the score of 3-0 on Friday night at the Ashley Sports Complex. Axelsson scored a pair of second-half goals against two-time defensive Player of the Week Adam Glick and Gilman made a pair of saves in earning his first collegiate shutout.
Two days later against Stetson, a foe ranked No. 6 in the South Region, Axelsson scored the lone goal of the match, his conference-leading fourth game-winning goal of the season and his ninth of the season. In six conference games, the senior from Vaxjo, Sweden has six goals and 14 points, tops in the conference. Overall, he leads the league in goals with a career-best nine and points with 21. Gilman recorded three saves, extending his scoreless streak to over 198 minutes and posted the first set of back-to-back shutouts in the four-year tenure of head coach Mike Johnson.

Garrett McLaughlin, LIP (Fr. - D - Belton, Texas - Education) -- Scored the second goal in the 3-2 win over Campbell; held Mercer's Vincente Arze to one shot and one assist as the primary defensive player.
Ben Page, LIP (Sr. - F - Woodstock, Ga. - History/Teaching) -- Scored the first goal in each of the Bisons A-Sun wins, 2-1 over Mercer and 3-2 over Campbell; tied for first in the A-Sun in shots (45).
Carter Ridgeway, UPST (Sr. - MF - Spartanburg, S.C. - Business) -- Scored both goals in the Spartans' 2-1 victory over Gardner-Webb Sunday night in Upstate's only A-Sun game of the week.
