Fit to be Tied: Belmont/Lipscomb Battle to Scoreless Draw

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A beautiful custom-made trophy was ready for the winner of the Lipscomb-Belmont soccer game.
The only problem was this version of the "Battle of the Boulevard" ended in a 0-0 tie with neither team being able to find the goal in 110 minutes of play. It was the first Atlantic Sun game for both teams.
"This game is what it is," said Lipscomb coach Charles Morrow. "It's a big rivalry. It is good for the team that wins, but in no way does it determine how the rest of the season will go. We will take what we can learn from it and get ready for our next game."
A school record crowd of 1,826 was on hand for the game at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex Friday night.
"I knew we would draw the numbers," said Morrow. "I think there is room in the Nashville sports market for that kind of crowd and I think we can do it more regularly than once a year.
