Upstate falls to Winthrop in Men's Soccer Game of the Week

Radford, Va. – USC Upstate's entry into NCAA Division I men's soccer was not a pleasant one as the 30th-ranked Winthrop Eagles took a 5-0 victory over the Spartans Saturday afternoon in the RU Soccer Classic hosted by Radford University.
Daniel Revivo led Winthrop to the victory, scoring four goals in the game. Combined with the three goals he scored in the 2006 Big South Championship game hosted by Radford, he has scored seven goals in his last two matches played at Cupp Stadium.
Upstate came out and pressed early, sending a shot on goal in the first minute of the match. However, Winthrop countered and went on a two-on-one situation and Revivo put a shot by Spartan keeper Jack Stern in the fourth minute. Saidi Isaac delivered the pass to Revivo on the goal.
