MACON, Ga. – Mercer’s Omar Liendo and Lipscomb’s Danny Prichard became repeat winners of the Atlantic Sun Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Monday.
Liendo continues to be one of the most valuable players in the A-Sun.
The versatile player helped Mercer surrender just one goal in a pair of A-Sun matches this weekend while drilling the game-winner versus Campbell on Saturday. The win helped the Bears end a two-match slide. The La Paz, Bolivia native also added four shots in a close defeat to Gardner-Webb. The senior majors in Business Administration.
Prichard blanked Belmont in the A-Sun Match of the Week to help hand Lipscomb an early victory in the Battle of the Boulevard. The freshman recorded his league-leading third shutout of the season. For the year, the Tacoma, Wash., ranks second in shutouts per game and third in both saves and in goals against average. Pritchard is majoring in pre-Physical Therapy.
The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out offensive and defensive Player of the Week awards weekly during the 2006 soccer campaign.
