MACON, Ga. – Campbell’s Richard Jata and Belmont’s Kyle Roelke sparked their teams to unbeaten weeks heading into conference play and earned Atlantic Sun Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.
Jata notched his second multi-goal game of the year on Wednesday, lifting Campbell to a 3-1 win over High Point with his 4th and 5th strikes of the year.
His two first half goals (including his 2nd game winner of the year) allowed the Camels to break a four-match losing streak that had plagued the preseason A-Sun favorites. The sophomore then helped lead the Camels to a 1-0 win at Davidson (ranked 8th in the South Region) on Saturday. On the year, Jata ranks fourth in the A-Sun in points (11) and third in goals (5). The Port Richey, Fla., native majors in Mass Communication.
