MACON, Ga. - ETSU's David Geno and Mercer's Greg Ranjitsingh picked up the Atlantic Sun Men's Soccer weekly honors after both the Bucs and Bears went 2-0 on the week.
Geno set the ETSU program record for points after adding two goals to his career total, while Ranjitsingh tallied his 13th career shutout - the seventh-most in A-Sun history.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
David Geno, ETSU (F – Jr. – Kingsport, Tenn. – Sport Management)
- Second Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; second this season
- Broke the ETSU program record for career points with 52; passing Aaron Schoenfeld
- Scored in both of the Bucs' victories this weekend
- Netted the game-winner vs. North Florida and added an assist in the 4-0 win
- Registered the opening goal in a 2-1 win vs. Jacksonville
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Matheus Saroli (F, Jacksonville) - Totaled three points on the weekend at USC Upstate and ETSU
- Reece Holcombe (F, Lipscomb) - Scored and assisted in 3-1 victory vs. FGCU
- Tevin Gage (F, USC Upstate) - Tallied two goals in Spartans' 4-1 win vs. North Florida
- Ashani Samuels (D, Mercer) - Netted the game-winner vs. Lipscomb; assisted on winning goal vs. Stetson
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Greg Ranjitsingh, Mercer (GK – So. – Pickering, Ontario)
- Second Career A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week honor; second this season
- Amassed 14 saves in two Mercer wins with only one goal allowed
- Stopped 10 Stetson shots in 1-0 shutout; his sixth shutout of the season
- His 13 career shutouts are seventh-most in A-Sun history
- Named to TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Nate Hodges (D, ETSU) - Netted the game-winning goal vs. Jacksonville in 89th minute
- John Kadane (D, USC Upstate) - Recorded an assist in 4-1 win vs. North Florida
