BUIES CREEK, N.C. – With victories in seven of its last eight matches and riding a five-game win streak, Campbell University is ranked 10th in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) South Region Division I men’s soccer poll.
The Fighting Camels, 10-3-1 overall and leading the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 5-1-0 mark, are ranked in the region for the first time in nearly a decade. The last time Campbell appeared among the region’s top 10 schools was when it was ninth in the Oct. 30, 1995 listing.
"Obviously, it is an honor to be among such top programs as North Carolina, Duke, UNC Greensboro and Wake Forest," said fourth-year Camel head coach Doug Hess. "I am convinced that this is one of the toughest, if not the toughest, regions in the country for Division I college soccer.
