Macon, Ga. -- Belmont pole vaulter Seth Jones earned the second Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week honor of the season today for his performance on January 8.

The Ruston, La. native won the pole vault event at Sunday's Tennessee State/Ed Temple Classic. His winning mark was 14 feet, just six inches short of the Belmont indoor record. It was his second individual title of his career and marked his seventh top-10 finish in his Belmont career.

Jones is a junior majoring in Music Business.

The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the 2005 cross country season.

The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
