MACON, Ga. - Kennesaw State's Jerome McKinzie, the reigning conference champion in the high jump from both the indoor and outdoor season earned his first Athlete of the Week award after winning the competition at the Tom Jones Memorial Classic defeating a field of 21, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
McKinzie, a sophomore communications major from Marietta, Ga., cleared 6-10.75 ft along with Florida State’s Andrew Bachelor. McKinzie earned first place as he had remained error free through out the contest. The field also consisted of competitors from Florida, Auburn, Miami, and Southern Miss.
