Kennesaw State's Matt Nagy Blogs from the U.S. Open

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Kennesaw St. junior Matt Nagy is No. 773 in Golfweek's college rankings, but that doesn't matter now. Nagy earned his way into the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage and he'll be blogging about his experiences for Golfweek.com throughout the week.
Today was an exciting day inside the ropes. I played my practice round with Fred Funk and Greg Kraft. The crowd was cheering and asking for autographs. I was extremely nervous teeing off in front of the huge gallery, but realize that it will be getting more and more intense as the week progresses.
People were calling out my name and yelling, "We love your story, Matt!" I heard many comments from the crowd and I have to say that the N.Y. crowd is very supportive. Previously, I wrote that I had autographed a bananna. Well, today I signed a Rubik's cube and a pair of sunglasses. I can only wonder what will be next.
