Zak Drescher shared the day’s low round and moved into a tie for fifth place Friday following the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional men's golf championship at RedTail Golf Club.

A sophomore from Landisville, Pa., Drescher enters Saturday’s final round as the low individual from a school that is not among the top five. If he holds on to that slot, he would qualify to play in the NCAA National Championship, May 27-30 at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.

Drescher had four birdies and one eagle and his five-under-par 66 Friday was matched only by individual leader Tarquin MacManus of Arizona. Drescher is six-under-par (70-66—136) through 36 holes on the par-71, 7136-yard RedTail layout.

Atlantic Sun Conference champion Campbell (293-281—574) moved up two spots to 11th on the team leader board following a three-under-par 281 Friday.

A solid second round of two-over 73 puts Bill Jones into a share of 44th place at the NCAA Southeast Regional at the RedTail Golf Club course in Sorrento, Fla. The Conyers, Ga. native finished one-over par in both his front and back nine, carding a birdie and two bogies on either side of the turn.

Starting on the back-nine, Jones bogeyed the par-five 12th and the par-four 18th, but landed a birdie on the par-five 17th to pull a stroke back. After two further bogeys on the front, Jones again wrapped his round with a bang, getting another birdie on the par-four ninth to bring him to 144 (+2) on the tournament.

Poor weather conditions forced the suspension of play in the second round of the NCAA Central Regional Friday at The Club at Olde Stone.

The ETSU men's golf team is currently midway through the second round, and remains in eighth place on the team leaderboard. The Buccaneers are just four strokes out of fifth place, needing to finish in the Top 5 to earn a spot in the NCAA Championships.
