Macon, Ga. -- April was a good month for ETSU’s Seamus Power. Along with
winning the individual title at the 2007 Atlantic Sun Men’s Golf Championship
and being selected as the Freshman of the Year, Power has also earned Golfer
of the Month honors, league officials announced today.
Power, a freshman from Waterford, Ireland, bested some of the nation’s
top golfers at the 2007 Men’s Golf Championship in Waverly, Ga., including
teammate and No.1 ranked Rhys Davies. Following his performance at the championship,
Power jumped to No.46 in Golfweek’s rankings.
At the championship, Power aced the par-3 13th hole and carded a 29 on the
back nine during the second round. He finished the event 3-under-par and garnered
a two-stroke victory. His individual title also helped earn ETSU its first conference
title since joining the Atlantic Sun.
The Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Month is announced on Thursday during the first
