FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Senior Silas Sutton was steady throughout the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate, paying him big dividends on the final day. Sutton shared the individual title, as the Mercer men's golf team finished the tournament in 10th.
Sutton (71-71-71=213) finished the first day tied for fourth, moved into a second-place tie on day two and completed the tournament tied for first after shooting each round 1-under par. "It was a good tournament for Silas to get a well-deserved win," said Mercer head coach Jason Payne.
Junior Andrew An (79-76-75=230) continued his improvement over the course of the event, shooting 3-over par in the final round to finish tied for 47th. Sophomore Ryan Blackburn (74-82-76=232), who stumbled on the second day, recovered to shoot 4-over par on the final day and finish in a tie for 52nd place.
