MACON, Ga. – Stetson’s David McAndrew played a heavy schedule in the month of October, recording a fifth-place finish at the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic and a win in the Bethune-Cookman Invitational to win the Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Month award for October, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

McAndrew, a finance major from Barrington, R.I., shot par or better six times in the month of October, including back-to-back three under par rounds of 69 that led him to the individual title at the Bethune-Cookman Invitational at Indigo Lakes Country Club in Daytona Beach, Fla. He won in a playoff over teammate Tommy Parker. He opened the month by finishing fifth out of 91 golfers at the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. October 3-5. He leads the team with a 72.9 stroke average on the season and has paced the Hatters to three straight top three finishes.
