Belmont Captures Second Straight Samford Intercollegiate

Oneonta, Ala. – The Belmont men’s golf team came back from a nine-stroke deficit after day one to capture the Samford Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon at the Limestone Springs Golf Course in Oneonta, Alabama. It was the second straight year the Bruins have captured this tournament.
Belmont won the team title by blistering the course in their second round. They shot a team score of five-under par 283 in round two, which included a career-low 67 by Mike Martin and 70s by Jeff Lanier and Adam Wynia. In round three, they held off former A-Sun rival Troy by shooting a team score of 301 to finish with a 54-hole mark of 889, two strokes better than the Trojans and three strokes better than first day leader Tennessee Tech.
