MACON, Ga. - Campbell University junior Verrelle Wyatt brought home his second consecutive individual cross country title this past weekend at the Seahawk Invitational on UNC Wilmington's campus, topping the field of 46 runners and helping Campbell claim the meet's team title as well.The Atlantic Sun Conference added one more accolade to the junior's week Wednesday afternoon, naming him Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Wyatt completed the 5,000 meter race in 15:46, scorching the field and finishing almost 30 seconds ahead of second-place runner Jeff Naro of UNC Wilmington.
The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Athlete of the Week every Wednesday during the 2007 cross country season.

Other Top Performers Sammy Palmer, North Florida (So. - Oviedo, Fla. - Nursing) - Finished in 25th place out of 157 runners at the Mountain Dew Invite. Crossed the finish line in 26:38.46, less than two minutes out of first place.
Jeff Crane, ETSU (Jr. - Taylors, S.C. - Mass Communications/Broadcasting) - Was the first Buccaneer runner and the second overall runner to finish at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Saturday.
Peikko Solla, Mercer (So. - Helsinki, Finland - Business) - Came in second at the Mercer Invitational with a time of 20:48.79.
