Macon, Ga. – E.J. Gordon capped his terrific second half of the conference season with a pair of 20-point outings to claim the final A-Sun Player of the Week award of 2005-06.
Gordon averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game last week as red-hot Stetson completed the regular season with wins over Campbell and Gardner-Webb.
On Thursday versus the Camels, Gordon collected 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and three steals in Stetson's 81-79 win. His two free throws with a minute left broke a 79-79 tie and proved to be the final margin of victory.
On Saturday against Gardner-Webb, Gordon's 21 points, seven rebounds, and four steals helped lift Stetson to a 77-65 victory. The DeLand, Fla., native moved into second-place among Stetson's all-time leading scorers with 1,662 career points and needs just 11 points in his first round tournament game to crack the A-Sun’s all-time top-10 scoring list.
The Hatters have now won eight games in a row, marking the seventh-longest active winning streak in Division I. Gordon has averaged 19.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg during the streak. For the season, he ranks 12th in the A-Sun in scoring, 11th in rebounding, 10th in assists, and fourth in steals. Gordon is majoring in Sociology.
The sixth-seed for the A-Sun tournament, Stetson will face third-seed Florida Atlantic at 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.

The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
