JU Looking To Snap Losing Skid Against ETSU In Second A-Sun/CSS Game of the Week
Date Posted: 2/2/2006
Macon, Ga. -- Jacksonville is glad to be back in the friendly confines
of the Swisher Gym as they host ETSU in Friday night's A-Sun/CSS Men's Basketball
Game of the Week. The Dolphins and Buccaneers will suit up for a 7:30 pm tip-off.
Barry Milligan will provide play-by-play and Sonny Smith will give expert color
anaylsis.
Jacksonville begins its home stretch with five of its final seven games at home and is looking to snap its school-record 17-game losing streak. The Dolphins
make their second appearance in the A-Sun “Game of the Week.” JU claimed an
88-71 win in its first appearance in the league’s big game.
Despite the Dolphins' skid, Antonio Cool is among the league's top-10 scorers,
providing 15.8 ppg. He scored 19 points and had two assists in the JU’s loss
at Campbell. It is the seventh time this season that Cool has scored 19 or more
in a game and gives him 15 straight games in which he has scored in double figures.
Evan Jefferson hit multiple 3-pointers in a game for the seventh time this season,
tying his career-high with three, en route to scoring 13 points.
The duo and the rest of the Dolphins squad will have their work cut out for
them when explosive point guard Tim Smith and the Bucs roll into town. The Bucs
top the A-Sun standings right now and Smith leads the league in scoring with
22.8 ppg and steals, averaging 3.4 per outing.
Just before the big game, tune into, "This Week in the A-SUN." The 30-minute
show airs highlights from five key matchups including Belmont-FAU, ETSU-KSU,
Mercer-KSU, Lipscomb-Belmont and KSU-Stetson.

include Stetson's Anthony Register, ETSU's Courtey Pigram and Mercer's Brian
Pfohl.
