MACON, Ga. - For the 122nd time, Belmont and Lipscomb will meet on the hardwood in the latest edition of the "Battle of the Boulevard." Belmont's Curb Event Center serves as the host for the 6:30pm CT tip.
Belmont has won 10 of 11 dating back to its win at Lipscomb on January 12 in double overtime. The Bruins 99-91 win marked the fifth time a Belmont-Lipscomb game had gone to overtime since Lipscomb moved up Division I in 2003-04. No other series in the country has featured as many overtime games in that span. Playing without Justin Hare, Shane Dansby scored a then-career-high 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Andy Wicke forced the first overtime with a game-tying three with eight seconds remaining.
Lipscomb has won five of its last six contests to move above .500 in A-Sun play. Freshman point guard Josh Slater has played exceptionally well of late, averaging 17.3 points per game in his last four games. The Bisons will attempt to avoid being swept by the Bruins for the first time since the 2003-04 season. The Bisons swept the Bruins last season.
Matt Stewart and Sonny Smith will call the action for CSS Sports. For those fans unable to view the game on CSS, the game can viewed on ASun.TV.
