MACON, Ga. - Jacksonville's Aloys Cabell and Stetson's Adam Pegg claimed the Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Weekly Honors, announced by the league office on Tuesday. Cabell posted back-to-back 20-point games at USC Upstate and ETSU, while Pegg totaled 31 points vs. Belmont.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Aloys Cabell, Jacksonville (So. – Guard – Atlanta, Ga.)
- First Career Player of the Week award
- Posted back-to-back 20-point road games at USC Upstate and ETSU
- Led the Dolphins to first-ever win at ETSU with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting
- Scored in double figures in 11-straight games
- Registered 23 points at USC Upstate with three three-pointers
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Torrey Craig (So., USC Upstate) – Helped Spartans clinch a spot in A-Sun Championship with two wins on the week
- Ian Clark (Jr., Belmont) – Averaged 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in two road wins
- Jakob Gollon (So., Mercer) – Led Bears with 17 points, seven assists, four steals and four rebounds at Kennesaw State
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Adam Pegg, Stetson (Jr. – Center – Clearwater, Fla. – Integrative Health Science)
- Second Career Newcomer of the Week award
- Poured in a career-high 31 points vs. Belmont on 13-of-18 shooting
- First Hatter to reach 30 points in a contest in two seasons
- Hit a career-best five three-pointers in the Belmont contest
- Added 18 points vs. Lipscomb; shot 67.9 percent from the floor on the week
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Ty Greene (Fr., USC Upstate) – Averaged 13.0 PPG, 3.5 APG on 54.5 percent shooting
- Deonte Alexander (Jr., Lipscomb) – Scored 27 points on 8-of-18 shooting vs. Stetson to lead Bison to OT victory
