Collegiate Summer Baseball Update: All-Star Edition

MACON, Ga. - As summer baseball leagues around the nation have moved beyond the halfway point in the season and enter the stretch run, a number of A-Sun student-athletes landed spots as All-Stars in their respective leagues.
Here is a league-by-league look at the A-Sun baseball players worthy of the title "All-Star."
Cape Cod Baseall League
Chris Sale, FGCU (So. - SP - Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox) - In the tradition-rich Cape Cod League, Sale leads in stikeouts (42) and has been the league's workhouse, pitching 40 innings. His 1.35 ERA ranks sixth.
Northwoods League
Tim Roberson, FGCU (So. - C - Rochester Honkers) - The catcher sports a .297 average with 31 RBI, ranking third in the league.
Jimmy Tanner, Upst (Jr. - C - Battle Creek Bombers) - Tanner has hit .271 and ranks third amongst the Bombers in both RBI (20) and doubles (nine).
Justin Preckajlo, UNF (Jr. - OF - La Crosse Loggers) - The junior has paced the Loggers with nine doubles - and he ranks second on the club with 22 runs scored.
Richie Erath, FGCU (Fr. - LHP - La Crosse Loggers) - In seven starts, owns a 3-1 record with a 1.94 ERA with only seven walks in 41.2 innings pitched.
Coastal Plain League
Josh Whitaker, KSU (So. - 1B - Outer Banks Daredevils) - Whitaker leads the Daredevils with 31 RBI and 13 stolen bases while hitting .316
Tyler Stubblefield, KSU (Jr. - SS - Outer Banks Daredevils) - Stubblefield is hitting .337 on the season with a team-high 32 runs scored and a .465 on-base percentage.
Ben Booker, ETSU (So. - RHP - Gastonia Grizzlies) - The
sophomore boasts a 3.47 ERA in addition to a 5-2 record an 33 strikeouts
Florida Collegiate Summer League
Lindsey Caughel, Stet (Fr. - RHP - Leesburg Lightning) - The right-hander sports a 2.25 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched.
Mitchell Brennan, Mer (Fr. - LHP/OF - Winter Park Diamond Dawgs) - The Bear has hit .276 with six stolen bases and made a pair of starts on the mound.
Tony Ferrano, UNF (Fr. - RHP - Sanford) - The freshman hurler has put up a 4-2 record with a 2.16 ERA. He has recorded 30 strikeouts against eight walks in 33.1 innings.
New England Collegiate Baseball League
Paul Hoilman, ETSU (So. - 1B - North Adams Steeple Cats) - Hoilman leads the league with seven home runs and 32 walks. His owns a .607 slugging percentage.
Josh Chester, FGCU (Jr. - OF - Keene Swamp Bats) - The junior ranks second in the league in hitting with a .379 average.
Southern Collegiate Baseball League
Derek Trent, ETSU (Jr. - C - Asheville Redbirds) - The junior has flirted with .400 and leads the Redbirds with a .729 slugging percentage.
Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League
Thomas Carroll, Mer (So. - RF - Lima Locos) - Carroll ntered the All-Star break hitting .340 with three doubles and 13 RBI and is 4-for-5 on stolen base attempts.
Sunbelt League
Dylan Craig, Bel (Fr. - OF - Rockdale A's) - Craig, the A-Sun Freshman of Year entered the break hitting .470.
Mercer's David Randall, Stephen Jenkins and Blake Mainor also earned spots in the Sunbelt League All-Star game.
