FORT WORTH - Belmont's Derek Wiley's three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning led the Rogers Hornsby Division to a 3-0 victory against the Tris Speaker Division in the Texas Collegiate League's fourth annual All-Star game, on Monday night, in front of 1,519 spectators at TCU Lupton Stadium.

Entering the game as a pinch hitter, Wiley, a sophomore, stepped to the plate with two runners on base after Baylor's Seth Hammock walked and North Central Texas College's Brian Holaday was hit by a pitch. The right-handed hitter then ripped an 0-2 delivery from Kansas State's Trevor Hurley over the left field wall, providing all of the night's offense. Wiley finished the game 1-for-2 and was named the game's MVP.

The victory provided the Hornsby Division with its first win in the annual mid-summer match up between stars of the collegiate wood bat league's two divisions.

Wiley, who hit .314 with 10 homeruns and 48 runs batted in this past season for the Bruins, has shined early this summer for McKinney. He is hitting .286 with two home runs in 17 games. He leads the Marshals in runs batted in (14), total bases (27) and is tied for the team lead in doubles (5). The 14 RBI place him in the top five of Texas Collegiate League. Wiley has helped lead McKinney to a league-best 13-5 record thus far.

A native of Dublin, Calif., Wiley earned Second Team All-Atlantic Sun honors in 2007. He was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball following the 2006 season.

He has two more years of eligibility for the Bruins.
