UNF Hurler Franzese Earns Spot On Italian National Team

ROME, Italy - The University of North Florida baseball team can now add another accomplishment to its already prestigious list of international notoriety.
Right-handed pitcher Antonio Franzese was named to the Italian National Team and will compete in this summer's International Baseball Federation World University Games. The first game Franzese will be able to compete in is July 1 in Nettuno against Danesi Nettuno.
Franzese is currently pitching for the Collechio Baseball Club in the Italian A2 Series, where he holds a 1-0 record with a 0.79 ERA in 22.2 innings pitched. He is third on the team with 28 strikeouts, and batters are hitting just .171 against him.
Collechio is currently in third place with a 13-7 record and has won three of its last four games.
