BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Men’s soccer assistant coach Jason Osborne has been selected to play for Great Britain at the 24th World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand August 8-18.
“It’s an honor to represent Great Britain at the World University Games,” Osborne said. “I appreciate Gardner-Webb for allowing me to have the opportunity to represent my country.
Osborne, an integral part of the coaching staff that led the Bulldogs to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2006, is part of the 20-man roster for Great Britain – its largest ever team for this competition.
The team opens competition in Group D on Aug. 7, a day before the opening ceremonies, with a match against Mexico. The squad also plays Morocco Aug. 9 and Kazakhstan Aug. 11.
